IT infrastructure services provider Kyndryl has signed a services agreement with Belgium-based banking and insurance group Belfius to expedite the latter’s technology modernisation.
Under the three-year contract, Kyndryl will accelerate the innovation and modernisation of Belfius’ technology platforms and support the bank’s continued focus on client satisfaction.
Besides, the IT infrastructure services provider will contribute to Belfius’ digital and development goals.
The new partnership, which is built on the parties’ 10-year collaboration, is expected to provide greater flexibility and unleash new technologies.
It is anticipated to drive additional innovation and customer satisfaction through new cloud services and continued investments in Belfius’ on-premises technology platforms.
Belfius cloud and digital security IT infrastructure head Benoît Sepulchre said: “We are very happy with this new agreement with Kyndryl, our long-lasting and trusted partner for IT infrastructure services for more than 10 years.
“I’m convinced that this new partnership will enable us to continue our journey to provide the best digital and technology services to our customers and employees and to keep on being one of the leading digital bank insurance companies in Belgium.”
Through the collaboration, Kyndryl will offer advanced operational management by delivering private infrastructure platforms-as-a-service, such as the mainframe and distributed servers.
The partnership includes the data centre, the LAN network, and securing Belfius’ IT environment.
Besides, Kyndryl will introduce a new modern digital workplace platform to offer the banking and insurance group’s employees the most modern and best experience in the digital world.
Kyndryl for Belfius managing partner and PI-SQUARE CEO Anton Wilsens said: “We are honoured to partner with Belfius on the next phase of their transformation and greatly appreciate the continued trust they’ve placed in us as their preferred partner.
“We look forward to jointly delivering new value and helping Belfius to accelerate its business and IT modernisation roadmap to offer a personalised and differentiated client experience.”
Kyndryl will also offer Belfius direct access to innovation capabilities for IT modernisation and optimisation, enabling the bank to adopt a true hybrid architecture and integration with cloud services. Furthermore, Kyndryl aims to support Belfius’ sustainability priorities by reducing carbon emissions within its IT footprint.
