Infosys BPM has introduced AI agents for invoice processing as part of its Infosys Accounts Payable on Cloud solution.

The development marks a shift from a human-driven, AI-supported model to an autonomous AI-first approach, aimed at improving efficiency and accuracy in invoice management.

The new solution utilises AI agents that possess advanced decision-making capabilities, allowing them to navigate complex business scenarios with speed and precision.

The autonomous approach facilitates comprehensive workflow management, enabling AI agents to adapt to evolving business logic and execute intricate tasks with minimal human intervention.

The Agentic AI-powered Accounts Payable on Cloud solution is designed to enhance operational efficiency, allowing businesses to scale effectively.

It incorporates Microsoft’s AI stack, combining Azure AI Foundry and other large language models with custom AI agents. The integration of Cognitive Services with Azure’s Platform-as-a-Service offerings supports the deployment of a scalable and intelligent AI solution.

This innovation was developed in partnership with Americana Restaurants, a leading operator in the Middle East, North Africa, and Kazakhstan, which operates over 2,600 restaurants.

Following the successful implementation of the Accounts Payable on Cloud solution for Americana, Infosys BPM is now integrating Agentic AI to further optimise invoice processing.

Infosys BPM CEO and managing director Anantha Radhakrishnan said: “With the introduction of Agentic AI into Infosys Accounts Payable on Cloud solution, we are redefining what is possible in the finance and accounting functional domain.

“By integrating Infosys Topaz with a purpose-built multi-agent framework, along with Microsoft’s AI stack, we’ve developed a solution that is autonomous by design, responsive to change, and built to evolve.

“This exemplifies our commitment to pioneering innovation and delivering unparalleled business value to enterprises worldwide.”
