French IT services firm Atos said that it has completed a data centre migration project for IGM Financial, a Canadian wealth and asset management company.
This transition marks a shift to a cloud-native infrastructure, utilising Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform. The move is set to enhance IGM’s operational efficiency by offering improved control, scalability, and speed in its business processes.
Through Atos’ expertise in creating scalable frameworks, IGM is expected to mitigate risks more effectively while benefiting from comprehensive visibility for reporting and remediation.
Atos Group Canada head Ed Nemes said: “The successful delivery of the data center migration to the public cloud underscores Atos’ proven ability to execute highly complex and mission-critical migration projects with precision.”
The adoption of the cloud model allows IGM to scale its resources seamlessly, facilitating the testing and deployment of new applications without requiring upfront infrastructure investments. This flexibility ensures IGM can maintain an up-to-date technology stack.
The new cloud-based system integrates advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and Internet of Things (IoT), positioning IGM to remain competitive in the face of rapid technological advancements.
According to Atos, the migration was completed on schedule, maintaining business continuity throughout the process.
IGM Financial chief information officer Sam Burns said: “We’re pleased to have collaborated with our partner, Atos, whose comprehensive expertise has helped to further modernise our technology infrastructure.
“This achievement marks a significant milestone in our ongoing digital transformation journey that enables us to better serve the financial needs of Canadians while also improving the employee and advisor experience.”
Last year, Atos, through its subsidiary Eviden, announced a five-year partnership with Microsoft aimed at accelerating digital transformation across various industries. This collaboration includes plans to facilitate clients’ transition to the cloud and promote the use of Azure OpenAI Service.
This agreement will enhance their collaboration through innovative Microsoft Cloud and AI-powered solutions aimed at addressing complex enterprise challenges.
By combining Eviden’s domain expertise with Microsoft’s technological capabilities, the partnership seeks to deliver tailored solutions that advance digital transformation efforts globally.
