UnionHub has unveiled its fully integrated benefits and payments platform, designed to assist third-party administrators, brokers, associations, and insurance carriers.
The platform aims to simplify benefits administration for a wide range of users, from as few as 1,000 to over a million. It seeks to address longstanding inefficiencies in the industry by providing a comprehensive ecosystem for managing benefits.
Developed by a Denver-based team, UnionHub aims to remove the need for disparate software solutions and manual processes. It combines benefits enrolment, compliance tracking, customer relationship management (CRM) functionalities, automated clearing house (ACH) payment processing, and real-time reporting into a single hub.
This integration is intended to streamline operations and reduce administrative burdens.
A notable feature of UnionHub is its Pay Day Deduction System. This system facilitates the automatic collection of insurance premiums and membership fees through ACH withdrawals that align with payroll schedules.
By doing so, it aims to minimise missed payments and billing errors while reducing administrative tasks. The platform also offers a self-service portal that allows employees and members to manage their benefits independently, potentially increasing engagement and reducing the workload on administrative staff.
UnionHub adheres to LIMRA compliance standards, ensuring data security and seamless integration with existing carrier systems. By supporting LIMRA’s Data Exchange (LDEx) Standards, the platform enables efficient data transfer between vendors and carriers. This facilitates smoother onboarding with major insurance providers and reduces costs associated with integration.
According to UnionHub, the platform is currently utilised by thousands of users across various industries, including the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, which represents over 1.4 million members in sectors such as freight, aviation, rail, logistics, and public service.
UnionHub is actively pursuing expansion through partnerships with general agents, national employers, unions, labour associations, and top insurance carriers.
Its ongoing development includes adding new coverages and enrolling previously unreached workers, which contributes to the growth of the voluntary benefits market. This expansion is intended to drive innovation and provide data-driven insights for creating more inclusive insurance products.
