Sprout.ai, a company specialising in insurance automation, has announced a partnership with MetLife to enhance claims processing through automation across various global markets, including the US, Asia, and Latin America (LATAM).

This collaboration aims to improve the speed, accuracy, and overall customer experience in claims handling by integrating Sprout.ai’s artificial intelligence (AI) technology into MetLife’s systems.

The partnership is said to have already seen early success in Latin America, where it has led to measurable improvements in claims turnaround times, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

Sprout.ai’s AI technology is designed to integrate seamlessly with existing insurer systems, enabling quick and fair automated claims decisions.

It uses natural language processing and patented optical character recognition to extract relevant information from various document types, ranging from PDFs to handwritten notes in different languages. This process aids in verifying and validating claims while detecting fraud and improving customer data accuracy.

The use of generative AI enables the creation of synthetic data for training models, which helps refine the claims process further. By contextualising and validating data against policy contracts, Sprout.ai ensures accurate calculations of limits, excesses, inclusions, and exclusions.

Deep learning algorithms then apply the insurer’s claim handling philosophy to optimise outcomes for both insurers and customers.
