Michigan Educational Credit Union (MECU), located in Plymouth, Michigan, has completed the implementation of a new digital banking platform from Lumin Digital, a cloud-based digital banking provider.
This move is part of MECU’s strategy to enhance its members’ banking experience by adopting advanced technologies and maintaining industry standards.
MECU selected Lumin Digital’s platform to better align with its objectives of providing cutting-edge technology, addressing changes promptly, and continuously introducing new features. The platform is updated regularly without disrupting user access, allowing MECU to offer frequent improvements that address member needs and assist with financial management.
MECU digital services manager Kyle Harris said: “Banking is undergoing a rapid digital transformation. By introducing Lumin’s digital banking platform, we’re positioned to provide our members with the tools and services they need to be successful in today’s modern age.”
Lumin Digital’s platform offers MECU members enhanced home and mobile banking services with increased speed, simplicity, and security. Notable new features include credit card controls and web chat, which were not available before.
Additionally, Lumin’s solutions have improved MECU’s service capabilities with features such as access/limit segmenting and joint owner profiles.
Lumin Digital chief delivery officer Lisa Daniels said: “Prioritising the customer experience is at the forefront of everything we do at Lumin. We’re thrilled to be working with the team at Michigan Educational Credit Union, who have always put their members first.”
Since the transition, MECU has migrated over 24,000 online banking users and nearly 13,000 bill pay users to the new platform. Feedback from members has indicated a positive response to the platform’s functionality and features.
