European private equity firm IK Partners has announced its decision to make a majority investment in Cinerius Financial Partners, an independent wealth management platform based in Switzerland.

The investment by IK Partners is financed through its IK IX Fund. Existing investor Summit Partners and the management team of Cinerius Financial Partners are also reinvesting significantly in this new chapter of the firm’s growth.

However, the financial terms of the transaction remain undisclosed.

Founded in 2021 and with its headquarters nestled in Zug, Cinerius Financial Partners is a platform for independent wealth managers (IWMs) in German-speaking European territories.

The platform currently incorporates seven partner businesses, offering a broad spectrum of wealth management solutions. These range from investments in proprietary funds to advisory services.

The partner businesses under Cinerius Financial Partners include B&K Vermögen, BV & P Vermögen, Habbel, Entrepreneur Partners, KSW Vermögensverwaltung, Ringelstein & Partner Vermögensbetreuung, Pohlig & Partner Vermögensverwaltung, and VM Vermögens-Management.

Serving over 5,500 clients, the Cinerius Group has grown significantly since its inception two years ago. Across its 13 locations, a team of over 140 dedicated employees in Germany and Switzerland manages assets exceeding CHF10bn.

In addition to providing strategic advice, the Cinerius platform supports the growth of its IWMs by facilitating middle-office and back-office functions. It offers vital services in human resources, hiring, compliance, digital marketing, and new customer acquisition.

With IK Partners stepping in as a majority shareholder, Cinerius Financial Partners is set to bolster its status as a leading wealth management platform. The firm’s strategy centers on organic growth initiatives, investment in its workforce and technology, and expansion of its partner businesses via a dedicated merger and acquisition (M&A) strategy.

The closing of the deal is contingent on competition authority approvals.
