US-based fintech platform iCapital said that it has expanded its partnership with Ares Wealth Management Solutions (AWMS) with an objective to give financial advisors broader access to the latter’s alternative investment solutions through various distribution channels.
The expanded partnership will also target registered independent advisors.
Both firms plan to provide increased access to a comprehensive suite of tools to underpin the creation of client portfolios.
AWMS is said to be utilising the capabilities of iCapital’s technology to provide investment solutions customised for the global wealth management community. These will be provided across the real estate, credit, private equity, and secondaries asset classes of Ares Management.
AWMS wealth management global head Raj Dhanda said: “This is a differentiating partnership that advances AWMS’ commitment to providing financial advisors and their clients greater access to the breadth of Ares’ institutional-quality products and services.

To assist the AWMS team in managing the distribution, marketing, and client management tasks for a range of investment solutions like evergreen, exchange, drawdown, and ’40 Act funds, the wealth management firm will launch an Ares-branded, iCapital-powered website.
Furthermore, AWMS provides access to a subset of its investment products through the iCapital flagship platform.
ICapital is said to present the offering’s investment as well as handle the structuring and management of the feeder funds and enable the ongoing servicing. These cover electronic subscription processing, onboarding of investors, servicing of funds, and reporting for the life of the investments.
