The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) has introduced the technology hub, a new facility providing access to digital tools currently used in finance, business and accountancy for ACA students.
The hub lets ACA students work with software used in areas such as audit analytics, cloud-based accounting, data automation and anti-money laundering compliance.
Software currently available includes Dext, Firmcheck, Inflo, Knime, Sage, and Xero.

ICAEW said that the hub is accessible to all students regardless of their stage of study, helping them build digital skills required in modern accountancy work.
The hub is intended to support the development of chartered accountants who understand the impact of technology on accountancy tasks and workflows.
The participation is optional and serves as a supplement to other elements of the ACA qualification.
ICAEW added that more platforms would be included over time so students can keep pace with software changes in the sector.
ICAEW education and training managing director Will Holt said: “Accountancy is evolving faster than ever, with technology now central to how the profession works, makes decisions and delivers value to clients. That’s why the launch of the Technology Hub is so timely for our students.
“With access to a range of platforms in the hub, students will be able to practise using workplace technology and broaden their skillset. This hands-on exposure will build their confidence and help improve their understanding of how emerging technologies work in practice. We are delighted to be able to provide our students with safe, independent access to these resources.”
In September 2025, ICAEW launched the Next Generation ACA qualification, which updates its core programme for business, finance, and accountancy training.
