US-based Edgesource has announced its acquisition of Auspex, a data analytics, cybersecurity, and management consulting services provider to the intelligence community.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Auspex is said to have expertise in statistical analysis for supporting strategic and programmatic decisions. Its decision support services include resourcing, portfolio investment choices, and courses of action.

Auspex CEO Gene Loughran said: “Aligning with Edgesource will help propel Auspex to our next stage of growth.

“In order to compete for talent and leverage growth opportunities within our customer base, we need the backing of a larger organisation with more diverse capabilities.”

The data analytics provider will continue to operate under its own brand as a fully-owned subsidiary of Edgesource.

Through the acquisition of Auspex, Edgesource aims to broaden its capabilities in the national security sector.

Edgesource provides information technology services to the federal government and commercial industries.

It specialises in database services, application development, enterprise networking, data centre virtualisation, and management support.

Edgesource president and CEO Chris Lansburgh said: “The acquisition of Auspex and its talented team augment Edgesource’s capabilities in the intel community and provide us with additional services to support our combined customer base.

“We will be able to leverage each other’s strengths for the benefit of national security, while providing all of our employees with new growth opportunities. We are eager to welcome the Auspex team to the Edgesource family.”

Edgesource also offers various training modalities and methods in support of cyber operations and military and training exercises.

The training services offered include in-person or virtual instruction, learning management system creation and deployment, lab creation, course design, cyber range management and related technical support.
