Egypt-based lender Bank NXT has formalised a collaboration with UiPath, a provider of intelligent automation solutions, in a move to bolster its digital transformation strategy.
This partnership, involving BMB Egypt as a collaborator, intends to implement the UiPath platform to expedite automation and improve operational efficiency within the bank’s services.
The initiative aligns with Bank NXT’s strategy to enhance institutional performance and customer experience while supporting its broader digital transformation goals.
Hesham Daabes, senior group head for support at Bank NXT, said that this agreement opens new possibilities for advanced use of the automation platform, maximising its value by leveraging global models to benefit Egypt’s banking sector.
Bank NXT is executing a roadmap aimed at automating several key operations soon. The plan is designed to increase institutional performance, provide genuine customer value, and reinforce its leadership in banking innovation across Egypt.
Founded in 1974 as aiBANK and operating under the Central Bank of Egypt since 1978, Bank NXT initially had a capital base of $40m. Its ownership structure now includes EFG with a 51% stake, Egypt’s Financial Services and Digital Transformation Sub-Fund with 25%, and the National Investment Bank holding 24%.
UiPath Middle East and Africa vice president and managing director Ashraf El Zarka said: “We’re excited to witness this landmark deployment of intelligent automation at Bank NXT—one of the fastest adoptions we’ve seen in the region. With unwavering executive support, led by the CEO and leadership team, and a highly dedicated staff, the foundation for long-term innovation is firmly in place.
“Phase one focuses on transforming back-office operations and enhancing customer interactions, laying the groundwork for flexible, customer-driven banking services. The future is bright, especially with agentic automation on the horizon.”
Earlier this month, UiPath announced a partnership with HCLTech to accelerate agentic automation across industries globally for its customers. HCLTech will deploy the UiPath Platform using artificial intelligence (AI) expertise to enable autonomous operations in various sectors including finance and supply chain.
This partnership aims to enhance business agility and optimise workforce efficiency for global enterprises through autonomous process management.
