Banco Sabadell, a Spanish banking group, has partnered with DXC Technology to improve the accessibility of its digital services.
The collaboration involves the implementation of a testing framework that integrates manual methods, automation, and AI-driven analysis. This framework is designed to identify and address accessibility challenges on Banco Sabadell’s digital platforms.
The initiative is part of Banco Sabadell’s strategy to foster inclusivity for its 12 million customers in Spain. By mitigating accessibility barriers, the bank aims to reduce user drop-off rates, enhance customer satisfaction, and promote greater autonomy in digital interactions.
DXC will provide 350,000 hours of advanced testing annually, working alongside Banco Sabadell’s Technology Competence Center in Alicante.
DXC Technology Europe president Juan Parra said: “With our deep expertise in banking technology and digital transformation, we are proud to collaborate with Banco Sabadell on this initiative that enhances service accessibility and promotes financial inclusion.
“It’s a significant step toward a more equitable digital future for all citizens.”
The collaboration has resulted in the development of a methodology that incorporates accessibility testing throughout the product development lifecycle. A real-time monitoring system will assess issues based on business impact and offer actionable solutions.
This approach is designed to comply with Spanish and European Union (EU) accessibility standards, aligning with Banco Sabadell’s regulatory and inclusion objectives. The initiative also aims to streamline software development and maintenance processes.
Banco Sabadell operations and technology general director Elena Carrera said: “At Banco Sabadell, we are committed to creating a digital environment that is accessible to everyone.
“Our collaboration with DXC enables us to ensure our digital services are inclusive and usable by all groups, including people with disabilities.”
DXC Technology provides technology services globally and has over 45 years of experience in the banking sector. In Spain, it supports all major banks with modernisation efforts.
The company recently signed a decade-long agreement with Unicaja to modernise its operations using AI technology, focusing on automation and improved customer service as part of Unicaja’s strategic plan for 2025–2027.
