Clarity AI, a company in the sustainability technology and artificial intelligence (AI) sector, has acquired ecolytiq, a provider of in-app climate engagement solutions.

This acquisition aims to enhance Clarity AI’s influence in the sustainability tech industry. It is expected to further its ability to offer data-driven solutions that support environmentally conscious decisions by individuals and organisations.

ecolytiq’s technology enables financial institutions to boost customer engagement through sustainability-focused features within banking apps. These features include insights into personal environmental impact and tailored climate actions, which assist users in reducing their carbon footprint.

The company collaborates with major financial entities such as Visa, Tink, TSYS, HSBC, Mashreq, and Piraeus to improve sustainable banking experiences through payment data.

ecolytiq co-founder and managing director David Lais said: “ecolytiq was founded with the idea that banking can be a powerful catalyst for climate action. The mission has always been to empower individuals to drive positive climate impact at scale through their everyday purchasing decisions.

“By joining forces with Clarity AI, we’re taking that vision to the next level—combining our behavioural science-based climate engagement technology with a world-class, AI driven sustainability platform. Together, we’re accelerating the transition to a greener future—powered by the best available data and backed by purpose.”

The acquisition of ecolytiq allows Clarity AI to broaden its product offerings to include institutional investors, global corporations, retail banks, and individual consumers.

Clarity AI’s platform provides sustainability intelligence by transforming complex data into actionable insights for responsible consumption and investment. ecolytiq, now integrated into Clarity AI’s suite of services, analyses transaction data in real-time to assess environmental footprints and deliver effective sustainability content using behavioural science.

The solutions of ecolytiq have been used by consumers and business clients across Europe and other regions to promote climate-related behaviours through insights. Its partnership with Visa is said to have strengthened this impact.

With Visa now joining as an investor and strategic partner of Clarity AI, the relationship is expected to reinforce the latter’s efforts.

Clarity AI serves a network handling around $70 trillion in assets worldwide. By incorporating ecolytiq’s consumer-focused approach, Clarity AI expects to boost its engagement capabilities and expand its reach as a leader in tech-driven sustainability initiatives.

Clarity AI founder and CEO Rebeca Minguela said: “We are transforming sustainability insights into a catalyst for action. ecolytiq’s platform aligns perfectly with our mission to embed sustainability intelligence into every decision—from multi-billion-dollar portfolios to everyday purchases.

“Together, we’re setting a new standard for how financial institutions engage consumers with data that drives meaningful change.”
