Mitsui Direct General Insurance, a subsidiary of the MS&AD Insurance Group, has adopted Guidewire’s Guidewire ClaimCenter on the Guidewire Cloud Platform.
Based in Tokyo, Mitsui Direct General Insurance operates as a direct insurer, providing products mainly via online and telephone channels, with an emphasis on personal automobile insurance.
This initiative with Guidewire aims to streamline IT processes, adapt swiftly to market fluctuations, and enhance customer service. According to Guidewire, this marks the inaugural cloud migration of ClaimCenter within Japan.
Guidewire senior vice president and Asia-Pacific managing director Shaji Sethu said: “We commend Mitsui Direct for their decision to migrate to Guidewire Cloud Platform in order to achieve further growth in the future, and drive improved operational productivity and efficiency while providing their customers with the best digital experience.
“Drawing on our experience with a variety of global clients, Guidewire will continue to support Mitsui Direct as they successfully migrate to the Guidewire Cloud Platform, and ensure that cloud services will bring efficiency to their business.”
Earlier this month, Beneva, a major mutual insurance firm in Canada, has also embraced the Guidewire Cloud Platform by deploying Guidewire PolicyCenter and BillingCenter. This transition is aimed at refining underwriting processes, policy administration, billing management, and IT operations.
The move allows Beneva to better meet evolving market needs and provide added value to its policyholders. Initially focusing on personal lines of business, Beneva plans to extend this migration to its commercial lines and brokerage-based businesses.
Deloitte led the implementation project as a member of Guidewire PartnerConnect Consulting Global Premier.
