Infosys has entered into a collaboration with Yorkshire Building Society to support the UK-based mutual’s long-term digital transformation objectives.
The partnership will focus on modernising the society’s technology infrastructure to enable a mobile-first and data-enabled banking experience across mortgage, savings, and commercial services.
Yorkshire Building Society, which oversees assets of £65.5bn and serves more than three million customers, is seeking to implement its 2030 strategic plan through digitally enabled operations. The plan is aimed at improving both member services and internal capabilities.
Yorkshire Building Society change delivery director Patrick Connolly said: “This collaboration is crucial to achieving our 2030 ambitions and realising the true potential of this organisation. The choices we make now will shape our future, and we are committed to combining the convenience of digital with the warmth of human interaction.
“This transformation will empower our members and colleagues with the tools and services needed to deliver great customer outcomes, including major investments such as faster payments and enhanced security. It’s a key part of our plan for continued growth, innovation, and efficiency, ensuring we continue to serve our members for generations to come.”
Infosys will assist in enhancing operational efficiency, supporting scalability, and deploying technologies aligned with cloud computing, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
The engagement covers the entire YBS Group, including the Chelsea Building Society and Norwich & Peterborough Building Society, both of which operate as trading names under the mutual.
The group also includes Accord Mortgages, a subsidiary of Yorkshire Building Society.
Infosys was selected based on its sector expertise and its record in delivering digital solutions for financial institutions.
The Indian IT company will work closely with Yorkshire Building Society to ensure that the transformation is aligned with regulatory requirements and market expectations while maintaining continuity in customer experience.
Infosys executive vice president and banking and financial services global head Dennis Gada said: “We are deeply committed to collaborating with Yorkshire Building Society for their transformation journey. We are bringing our full suite of next-generation technologies to help them improve customer experience for their members, with a deeper focus on end-to-end digital channels.
“This collaboration not only underscores our ability to provide innovative solutions but also highlights the tangible value we are bringing to help Yorkshire Building Society achieve their strategic objectives and build a resilient, future-ready organisation.”
In a related development last month, Infosys renewed and expanded its collaboration with Allied Irish Banks (AIB). That agreement builds on a relationship that dates back to 2015 and includes responsibilities for application development, testing, and technology support services.
The renewed contract aims to improve AIB’s IT systems and support broader transformation programmes across both Ireland and the UK.
